The temples of Angkor might be the most photogenic place on Earth. The entire Angkor complex is one of the largest pre-industrial cities in the world covering over 1,000km. Built by the Khmer Empire during 9th to 15th Centuries, there are over 1,000 temples scattered over the site. The main temple of Angkor Wat is one of the largest religious monuments in the world, dedicated first as a Hindu temple of the God Vishnu and later rededicated as a Buddhist temple. Angkor is is truly one of the wonders of the world and should be on everyone's short list of places to visit.
